Job summary

Fusion5 is seeking a Senior Consultant to join our Data and Integration practice in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane, working on Power BI and Microsoft Fabric projects for ANZ's brands. You'll be client-facing from day one, collaborating with consultants who back each other to deliver outcomes.

You'll work across the full project lifecycle from analysis to deployment, build trusted client relationships, and translate complex requirements into measurable reporting solutions that drive real business

Qualifications

• Experience delivering Power BI and Fabric solutions for clients.
• Ability to translate business needs into reporting requirements.
• Comfortable working in both agile and waterfall project environments.
• Strong communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience training end-users on BI solutions.

Fusion5 is looking for a Senior Consultant to join our Data and Integration practice in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane, working on Power BI and Microsoft Fabric projects for some of ANZ's most recognised brands. You'll be client-facing from day one, working alongside consultants who take real ownership of outcomes and back each other to get there.

We've been a member of the Microsoft Inner Circle since 2017 and a Cloud Solutions Partner, a position that puts us at the table when Microsoft shapes its own business applications strategy and gives our consultants early visibility into where the platform is heading before most of the market. What you'll be doing

This role suits someone who enjoys a technical challenge, thinks independently, and stays close to what's new in the Microsoft data stack a chance to build solutions that genuinely change how our clients run their business.

• Translate complex business needs into clear, actionable reporting solutions that drive real value for clients
• Work closely with the project team to deliver cross-functional data and reporting solutions
• Contribute across the full project lifecycle analysis, design, build, test and deployment
• Build trusted relationships with clients as a credible source of guidance on Power BI and Microsoft Fabric
• Manage projects efficiently, keeping to deadlines and budgets without compromising quality

What you bring

You're someone who takes ownership rather than waiting to be told — comfortable stepping into ambiguity, asking the right questions early, and working through a problem until the client has an answer they can act on. You build trust quickly, whether that's with a technical peer or a business stakeholder who's never opened Power BI, and you bring the same level of care to a workshop as you do to the final delivery.

• Gathers and documents requirements clearly — client interviews, workshops, functional/technical specs, SOWs and estimates
• Delivers across both agile and waterfall projects
• Confident designing and running Power BI and Fabric training for end-users
• Communicates clearly across technical and business audiences, juggling multiple projects at once

Technical capabilities

• Power BI: deep expertise across Desktop, Service and administration — data models, DAX and Power Query for dynamic reports and dashboards
• Data engineering: T-SQL and ETL/ELT experience integrating relational databases, cloud storage and APIs
• Microsoft Fabric and Azure: working knowledge of Fabric and Azure services (Synapse Analytics, Data Lake Gen2, SQL Database)

Advantageous

• Report design and data visualisation best practice
• Lakehouse architecture, or other cloud/data platforms (AWS, Snowflake, Informatica, dbt, Coalesce, WhereScape)
• Other BI tools (Cognos, Tableau, Qlik) or ML-based analytics
• Microsoft certifications — PL-300, DP-600 or DP-203
