Job summary

Blackstart is a specialist advisory firm partnering with energy, utilities, mining and critical infrastructure organisations. We’re seeking an experienced consultant to lead high‑impact work, shape client outcomes and help build our growing advisory practice in Australia.

You will work directly with operational leaders, engineers, asset managers and executives to improve how critical infrastructure is planned, operated and maintained—from strategy through to implementation.

Qualifications

• An engineering, business or related tertiary qualification.
• Experience within energy, utilities, mining or other asset‑intensive industries.
• Experience leading projects, workstreams or client engagements.
• Strong facilitation, communication and report‑writing skills.
• Experience translating analysis into practical outcomes.
• A desire to help clients improve performance rather than simply produce reports.
• Consulting experience is highly regarded but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead workstreams and facilitate workshops with senior stakeholders.
• Develop practical recommendations that clients can implement.
• Influence how Blackstart grows by shaping methods, capability and culture.
• Oversee or contribute to client engagements and project outcomes.
• Collaborate with engineers, asset managers and executives on delivery.
