Job description

Alchemy Partners is an Australian-owned boutique consulting firm that helps government and private-sector clients solve complex challenges and improve business performance through collaboration. Our work spans strategy, operating model design, organisational transformation, program delivery, governance, change management, stakeholder engagement and data insights.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Consultant to join our Canberra team and play a key role in establishing and operating a client Collaboration Hub.

The Hub brings together people, information and structured collaboration methods to help address complex organisational challenges and turn ideas into practical outcomes. The role will support both the effective operation of the Hub and the delivery of client events within the Hub.

Working closely with the Engagement Lead, collaboration practitioners and client stakeholders, you will coordinate collaborative events from preparation through to follow-up. This will include developing and organising event inputs, supporting delivery in the Hub, capturing and synthesising outputs, and ensuring actions and decisions are progressed.

Alongside this, you will manage the core delivery disciplines required to keep the engagement on track, including integrated planning, contractual reporting, governance, resource coordination, risk management and performance monitoring.

This role would suit someone who enjoys bringing structure to complex environments, can move comfortably between event delivery and detailed engagement management, and is confident working with senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
Collaboration Hub and Event Delivery
  • Support the end-to-end planning and delivery of collaborative events, workshops and working sessions within the Hub.
  • Work with facilitators, subject-matter experts and client stakeholders to develop event inputs, including briefing materials, data, visual content and templates.
  • Coordinate participants, schedules, logistics, materials and Hub readiness, responding to changing requirements during events.
  • Capture and synthesise key insights, decisions, actions and emerging themes into clear, useful outputs for participants and decision-makers.
  • Track agreed actions, maintain Hub materials and assets, and contribute to refining the Hub’s operating rhythm, tools and ways of working.
Delivery Planning and Coordination
  • Develop and maintain integrated delivery plans, schedules, milestone trackers and forward work plans.
  • Translate contractual commitments and client priorities into practical, sequenced delivery activities.
  • Coordinate weekly, monthly and quarterly planning and reporting cycles across the engagement.
  • Monitor progress against milestones, dependencies, KPIs, service levels and contractual deliverables.
  • Identify delivery risks, scheduling conflicts and capacity constraints, and coordinate resource forecasting and utilisation planning.
Governance and Performance Reporting
  • Prepare accurate and timely weekly, monthly and quarterly performance reports.
  • Coordinate reporting inputs and produce executive dashboards, governance packs and engagement updates.
  • Maintain RAID registers, action logs, decision records and milestone trackers.
  • Ensure risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies and decisions are clearly documented, managed and escalated where required.
  • Support governance meetings and maintain reporting artefacts that demonstrate contractual compliance and delivery assurance.
Stakeholder Engagement and Continuous Improvement
  • Build effective relationships with engagement leadership, delivery teams and client representatives.
  • Facilitate planning, reporting and governance discussions to support alignment and timely decision-making.
  • Present complex delivery information clearly to operational and executive audiences.
  • Identify opportunities to improve planning, reporting, knowledge management, governance and delivery routines through the use of technology, automation and data visualisation.
Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate will bring:

  • Experience in delivery management, business management, program coordination, PMO, consulting or a related environment, ideally supporting complex programs with multiple stakeholders and delivery streams.
  • Strong capability in integrated planning, scheduling, governance, performance reporting and monitoring contractual commitments, KPIs and delivery milestones.
  • Experience preparing executive reports, dashboards, governance packs, delivery plans, RAID registers and other engagement artefacts.
  • Experience coordinating workshops, collaborative events or structured stakeholder sessions, including gathering and synthesising information from multiple sources.
  • Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders, supported by strong written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative, adaptable and practical approach to delivery.
The following would also be highly regarded:
  • Experience working in a consulting environment.
  • Knowledge or experience of MG Taylor, DesignShop or other collaboration methodologies.
  • Experience capturing and developing workshop or event outputs.
  • Experience with Power BI, data visualisation, knowledge management or collaboration tools.
Security Clearance Requirements

A current Australian Government security clearance is mandatory.

Candidates holding an active NV1 clearance are preferred. Candidates with an active Baseline clearance may also be considered if they are willing to undertake the required process to upgrade their clearance.

Working Arrangements

This is a permanent, full-time role based in Canberra. The successful candidate will need to be comfortable working onsite in a secure client environment and being present in the Collaboration Hub to support events and engagement activities.

What We Offer
  • Competitive remuneration and benefits.
  • Exposure to complex and meaningful government transformation and delivery work.
  • Direct access to senior client stakeholders and experienced consulting leaders.
  • A collaborative and supportive consulting environment.
  • Professional development, mentoring and career growth opportunities.
