Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Construction Manager for a Remote Airfield (New Terminal) project based in Perth, WA. You will lead direct reports and interdisciplinary teams to establish construction methods, review plans for costs and constructability, and ensure compliance with corporate processes and procedures.

You will monitor safety, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, review contractor submittals, and prepare forecasts to support timely project delivery on aviation infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.
• Infrastructure and/or aviation project management experience.
• High level interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrable leadership within a large organisation and with external stakeholders.
• Ability to influence and engage in a collaborative working environment with internal and external stakeholders while maintaining commercial awareness.

Responsibilities

• Engage field engineers through competency development and feedback.
• Monitor that processes and procedures are fully developed and implemented.
• Coordinate activities with other disciplines or areas to ensure program delivery priorities are maintained.
• Review all contractor submittals including construction schedules, costs, reports, and changes.
• Prepare and present reports and forecasts, including summaries of construction progress and expenditure forecasts.
• Liaise, support and assist internal stakeholders regarding onsite project related activities and logistics.
• Monitor that project teams are implementing and enforcing policies, procedures and related work rules established by project management.
• Actively monitor contractor compliance with safety requirements and encourage safe performance.
• Monitor work activities and the quality of work performed by the contractor.
• Attend construction toolbox meetings.
