Senior Construction Manager - HV Transmission (Gippsland)

Job summary

Randstad is partnering with an upper tier contractor to deliver a flagship high-voltage energy transmission package in the Gippsland / Traralgon region.

As Construction Manager you will lead the package from civil earthworks through to structural concrete, manage procurement, subcontractor negotiations, schedules and budgets, and act as the primary liaison with client reps, HV partners, and authorities to ensure safety, quality and on-time handover.

Responsibilities

• Lead package execution across site earthworks, heavy foundations, structural concrete, and facility buildings construction.
• Interface daily with HV technology partners, equipment installers, and grid connection teams to manage civil-to-tech handovers.
• Direct end-to-end procurement strategies for long-lead items, heavy structural components, and specialist trade packages.
• Lead market engagement, complex subcontractor negotiations, scope splits, and risk allocation to protect package budgets.
• Manage master schedules, package budgets, and resource allocation to hit critical project milestones.
• Act as primary operational liaison for client reps, site superintendents, TNSPs, and local authorities.
• Enforce site-wide safety, environmental standards, and quality assurance for high-voltage construction.
• Drive package commercial performance, claims, variation management, and monthly P&L reporting.
