Job summary

Randstad partner contractor seeks a Construction Manager to lead a flagship high-voltage energy transmission project near Traralgon, Gippsland. You will oversee earthworks, foundations, concrete, and building works, coordinating with HV partners and grid teams to ensure timely completion.

The role requires hands-on control of procurement, subcontractor negotiations, and budget management, with a focus on safety and quality throughout the site. Relocation to Gippsland may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience leading major civil/structural construction packages valued at $500m+.
• Hands-on expertise in heavy structural concrete, industrial buildings, and civil groundworks.
• Experience delivering interface-heavy energy, utility, or power infrastructure projects.
• Strong commercial acumen and full package P&L accountability.
• Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead package execution across site earthworks, heavy foundations, structural concrete, and facility buildings construction.
• Interface daily with HV technology partners, equipment installers, and grid connection teams to manage handovers.
• Direct end-to-end procurement strategies for long-lead items and major components.
• Lead market engagement, subcontractor negotiations, scope splits, and risk allocation to protect budgets.
• Manage master schedules, package budgets, and resource allocation to hit milestones.
• Act as primary operational liaison for client reps, site superintendents, and authorities.
• Enforce site safety, environmental standards, and quality assurance on HV construction.
• Drive package commercial performance, claims, variations, and monthly P&L reporting.
