Job summary

Wallace Hind Selection is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to lead multiple UK airport infrastructure projects from our Northamptonshire HQ. You will shape construction strategy, drive delivery standards and build scalable capabilities for future growth, while traveling UK-wide to oversee live projects.

You will lead Project Managers, ensure buildability, governance and safety compliance, and develop a high-performing delivery team across design, procurement and construction functions.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership across multiple UK construction projects.
• Excellent construction planning, programme and delivery management skills.
• Thorough working knowledge of the RIBA Plan of Work 0-7.
• Strong multidisciplinary design coordination and buildability experience.
• Solid understanding of CDM, construction health and safety and risk management.
• Strong commercial awareness and link between methodology, programme, cost and profitability.
• Experience managing subcontractors, specialist contractors and supply chains.
• Excellent client and senior stakeholder management skills.
• Credibility to challenge, decide and intervene when delivery is at risk.
• Willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK.

Senior Construction Manager, Contracts Manager, Senior Project Manager – Aviation, Construction

We are looking for an accomplished Senior Construction Manager to take a leading role in a growing specialist airport infrastructure business.

This is more than project delivery. You will have the opportunity to shape the construction function, influence delivery strategy and build the capability needed to support future growth.

Based out of our Northamptonshire Headquarters and with UK-wide travel, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple UK construction projects, ensuring safe, profitable and high-quality delivery. Working closely with design, engineering, manufacturing and commercial teams, you will drive construction excellence from pre-construction through to handover.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As our Senior Construction Manager, you will be :

• Providing senior leadership across multiple concurrent UK construction projects.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

• Strong experience working for, or closely alongside, a Principal Contractor.
• Excellent construction planning, programme and delivery management skills.
• Thorough working knowledge of the RIBA Plan of Work 0-7.
• Strong multidisciplinary design coordination and buildability experience.
• Solid understanding of CDM, construction Health and Safety and risk management.
• Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of the link between methodology, programme, cost and profitability.
• Experience managing subcontractors, specialist contractors and supply chains.
• Excellent client and senior stakeholder management skills.
• The credibility and confidence to challenge, make decisions and intervene when delivery is at risk.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout the UK.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

• Experience in airport / aviation infrastructure, live operational environments, modular / off-site construction, MMC, DfMA, complex logistics, high-security or regulated environments would be highly advantageous.
• Relevant qualifications such as SMSTS, CSCS management-level certification and a construction, engineering or related professional qualification are expected.
