Job summary

u&u Recruitment Partners seeks a senior commercial or construction lawyer to join an established in-house legal team in Australia on an 18-month fixed-term contract. You will own advisory work across construction, commercial contracting, and project matters, working closely with project, commercial and operational stakeholders.

You will negotiate head contracts, sub-contracts, and related project documentation, and provide practical advice on risk, guarantees, insurance and broader contractual

Qualifications

• Must have senior commercial or construction legal experience.
• 7+ PQE or equivalent seniority.
• Strong front-end construction and commercial contracting experience.
• Experience with multiple construction contract models.
• Understanding of head contracts and sub-contracts.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate construction contracts across models.
• Advise on head contracts, sub-contracts and project documentation.
• Review and negotiate broader commercial contracts and supply agreements.
• Advise on guarantees, warranties, insurance and risk matters.
• Provide practical legal support to project, commercial and operational teams.
• Identify and manage contractual and legal risks.
• Build relationships as a trusted commercial adviser; liaise with external advisers.
