Job summary

ClearView Wealth Limited, now part of Zurich, seeks a Senior Compliance Manager to embed the Compliance Management Framework across the organisation and strengthen privacy and regulatory practices. The role partners with the Head of Risk and Compliance to manage incidents, controls, and regulatory obligations.

You will provide regular reporting to Senior Management and Board Committees, coordinate with Legal, Product, Life Administration and Claims teams, and support a robust compliance culture.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in financial services, preferably life insurance essential.
• 5+ years in compliance management.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory framework for life insurance and superannuation (ASIC, APRA, privacy).

Responsibilities

• Establish close working relationship with first line risk and compliance teams.
• Manage and assess incidents, including compliance assessments and root cause analysis.
• Provide regular reporting to Senior Management and Board Committees on compliance matters.
• Maintain the compliance obligations library and monitor regulatory obligations.
• Review and maintain Risk & Compliance policies and procedures.
• Undertake control testing and address gaps with the business.
• Manage and advise on privacy queries and potential privacy incidents.
• Provide practical compliance advice across the business.

Role Summary

This role will partner with the Head of Risk and Compliance to embed and strengthen the Compliance Management Framework across the organisation.

The Senior Compliance Manager role provides expertise across broader compliance matters, including privacy, and works closely with stakeholders across the business to strengthen compliance practices, risk awareness and the management of regulatory obligations.

A key focus of the role will be incident management, with responsibility for investigating and analysing incidents to identify underlying issues, trends and potential compliance risks. The role will look beyond the immediate incident to understand root causes and identify opportunities to strengthen controls and prevent recurrence.

Primary (Key) Responsibilities

• Establishing a close working relationship with the business and the first line risk and compliance team.
• Manage and assess incidents, including completing compliance assessments, identifying potential breaches or reportable matters, supporting root cause analysis, and tracking actions through to closure.
• Provide regular reporting to Senior Management and Board Committees on compliance related matters.
• Maintain the compliance obligations library, including supporting the identification, interpretation, allocation and ongoing monitoring of regulatory obligations.
• Review and maintain Risk & Compliance policies, procedures and supporting documents.
• Undertake control testing of compliance obligations, and work with the business to address gaps or control weaknesses.
• Manage and advise on privacy queries and escalations, including supporting assessment, triage and escalation of potential privacy incidents.
• Provide practical compliance advice and support across the business, including engaging with stakeholders to identify, assess and manage compliance risks and regulatory obligations.

Qualifications Required

• 8+ years of experience in financial services, preferably life insurance essential
• 5+ years of experience in compliance management
• Strong working knowledge of the regulatory framework applicable to life insurance and superannuation, including relevant ASIC, APRA, privacy and industry code obligations.
