Job summary

The Department of Primary Industries and Regions (PIRSA) seeks a Senior Communications and Engagement Partner to join the Industry and Regional Development Division. You will shape engaging communications, connect with diverse stakeholders and drive behaviour change across Emergency, Drought and Resilience programs.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to develop and deliver effective communications and engagement plans with clear messages, KPIs and evaluation.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; distil complex issues into simple, accessible information.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills across government, industry and community.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with strong planning, organisation and time management.
• Strong judgement, political nous and diplomacy to navigate complex situations.
• Collaborative and agile; ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and value IAP2 certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead integrated communications, engagement and community education plans for Emergency, Drought and Resilience programs.
• Create and oversee high-quality content across channels to educate audiences and drive behaviour change.
• Turn complex information into clear, accessible messages for diverse audiences.
• Provide specialist communications advice, identify risks and manage issues with sound judgement and diplomacy.
• Build and maintain relationships across PIRSA, government, community and industry to deliver coordinated initiatives.
• Monitor and evaluate activities using analytics to improve reach and impact.
