Job summary

Randstad, a government body delivering transformational infrastructure projects on the Sunshine Coast, seeks a Senior Communications Advisor to bridge internal project teams, principal contractors, and local communities for clear, proactive communications across project lifecycles.

You will lead strategy development, coordinate briefings, and provide strategic advice on reputation management and risk mitigation while engaging with councils, SMEs, and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Proven background delivering communications and stakeholder engagement within infrastructure projects.
• Exceptional relationship-building, negotiation, and influencing across complex multi-organizational teams.
• Sound judgment in identifying, mitigating, and responding to sensitive community concerns and construction impacts.
• Outstanding written and verbal capabilities, translating complex data into accessible public messaging.
• Tertiary qualifications in Communications/PR and/or IAP2 certification are highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and execution of communications and stakeholder engagement strategies for key infrastructure project packages.
• Act as the primary communications interface between government delivery teams and principal contractor partners.
• Develop, coordinate, and quality-check construction notifications, stakeholder briefings, and community engagement collateral.
• Provide strategic advice to project managers regarding reputation management, emerging community issues, and risk mitigation.
• Monitor community sentiment and stakeholder feedback to support informed project decision-making.
• Represent the organization in meetings with external stakeholders, community groups, local councils, and businesses.

About the Role

Randstad is seeking an experienced Senior Communications Advisor to join a major government body delivering transformational infrastructure projects. Operating within an integrated delivery team, you will bridge the gap between internal project teams, principal contractors, and local communities to ensure clear, proactive, and strategy-driven communications throughout active project lifecycles.

Role Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of communications and stakeholder engagement strategies for key infrastructure project packages.
• Act as the primary communications interface between government delivery teams and principal contractor partners.
• Develop, coordinate, and quality-check construction notifications, stakeholder briefings, and community engagement collateral.

• Issues & Risk Management: Sound judgment in identifying, mitigating, and responding to sensitive community concerns and construction impacts.
• Communication Skills: Outstanding written and verbal capabilities, with a demonstrated ability to translate complex, technical data into accessible public messaging.
• Qualifications & Certifications: Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, or a related discipline, and/or IAP2 certification, are highly regarded.
