Job summary

Capital Talent Consulting seeks an experienced Senior Communications Advisor to support a major infrastructure program for a QLD Government client, based in Nerang.

You will lead a small communications and engagement team, provide strategic advice, and deliver clear, consistent engagement with communities and stakeholders.

This 6-month contract is full-time and includes travel to project sites; it offers a challenging role shaping community relations and risk messaging across the program.

Qualifications

• Experience in major infrastructure projects and community engagement.
• Ability to lead a small team and provide strategic advice.
• Experience with social media and engagement frameworks such as IAP2.
• Qualification in communications, PR or marketing or equivalent experience.
• Current Class C driver’s licence and own vehicle for site visits.

Job description

Contract | Full-time | 6 months, possible extension

About the role

About you

You’ll bring strong communications and engagement experience, sound judgement, and confidence working with a range of stakeholders—including in challenging conversations. Experience in major infrastructure projects, social media, team leadership and community engagement frameworks such as IAP2 will be highly regarded.

A communications, public relations or marketing qualification is desirable, or equivalent relevant experience.

Mandatory requirements

• Current Class C driver’s licence and your own vehicle to attend project sites, offices and meetings. Travel costs are not included in the contract.
• Willingness to undergo employment screening, which may include a criminal history check.
• Construction Induction Card (White Card), or ability to obtain one within six months of starting.
