Job summary
AEMO is seeking a Senior Engineer - Commissioning to lead the commissioning of renewable energy projects and ensure safe, reliable operation within the National Electricity Market. The role offers flexible working arrangements and the chance to influence Australia’s energy transition.
You will collaborate with developers, network service providers and government bodies, solving complex technical challenges and driving practical outcomes while mentoring engineers and strengthening industry
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or power systems.
- Experience commissioning renewable energy, transmission or large-scale energy infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of generator commissioning, performance testing, power system behaviour and NEM requirements.
- Experience with PSSE and PSCAD.
- Experience with hold point testing, R2 compliance and model validation.”
Responsibilities
- Lead the commissioning of renewable energy projects to achieve successful operation.
- Provide expert advice on commissioning, registration, power system performance and system strength.
- Collaborate with developers, network service providers and industry stakeholders to resolve complex technical challenges.
- Drive technical decision-making aligned with NEM requirements and project outcomes.
- Mentor engineers and build relationships across industry to reinforce AEMO's technical leadership.
