Job summary

NEXTDC is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to lead the commercial function for hyperscale data centre projects in Australia. You will oversee all financial, contractual, and procurement activities across the construction lifecycle, ensuring cost efficiency, risk management, and governance in alignment with NEXTDC's strategic goals.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience in commercial management within construction or infrastructure sectors.
• Experience in data centres or mission-critical environments preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Australian construction regulations, procurement frameworks, and approval processes.
• Advanced contract administration and financial management expertise.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop high-performing commercial teams.
• Foster accountability and commercial excellence across projects.
• Develop commercial, procurement, and contracting strategies.
• Support planning through cost modelling and forecasting.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with contractors, consultants, and vendors.
• Oversee variations, claims, disputes, and contractual compliance.
• Manage budgets, cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Monitor cash flow and financial risk.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks.
• Ensure governance and legal compliance.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships and provide strategic advice.
• Drive commercial integrity and value across delivery.
