Job summary

UGL Pty Limited is seeking an accomplished Commercial leader to drive governance, controls and commercial strategy across major projects in Australia. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, interface with senior customers, and coordinate with Joint Venture partners to protect commercial positions.

The role requires extensive experience in finance and commercial leadership on large infrastructure programs, with proficiency in SAP and cost management systems.

Qualifications

• 15 years’ experience in Finance and Commercial leadership roles, with Major Projects background.
• Experience using SAP and cost management systems.
• Led commercial functions within construction, transport, infrastructure, defence, utilities or safety-critical environments.
• Proven ability to manage complex commercial risks, claims and financial outcomes on large-scale projects.
• Ability to influence senior leaders, build high-performing teams and drive commercial excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of the Commercial function with governance and controls.
• Direct interface with the customer at senior levels.
• Oversee JV governance and alignment of partners’ commercial positions.
• Develop and maintain project commercial disciplines to ensure informed decisions.
• Review contracts and subcontract documents to maximise UGL commercial advantage.
• Manage major claims and liaise with Legal on actions against UGL.
• Ensure compliance with recordkeeping obligations.
• Undertake ad hoc projects as directed by the Project Director.
