Job summary

Elevate Legal Talent in Australia seeks a seasoned commercial lawyer to join its legal team in Perth on a 12-month contract to support procurement, infrastructure, energy and construction projects.

You will draft and negotiate complex contracts, advise on risk, manage variations and disputes, and collaborate with procurement and project teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Qualifications

• 8+ years post-qualification experience in commercial, procurement, projects, construction, infrastructure or energy law.
• Proven experience negotiating and advising on complex commercial and procurement contracts.
• Strong background supporting major infrastructure, energy, construction or capital projects.
• Ability to provide commercially focused legal advice and manage contractual risk.
• Excellent stakeholder management, with collaboration across procurement, project and business teams.

Job description

Our client, a leading global energy & utilities company, seeks a seasoned commercial lawyer to join its legal team on a 12-month contract. The successful candidate will provide legal support on significant procurement, infrastructure, energy, and construction projects. This role will be instrumental in supporting strategic initiatives, including major network and housing-related projects, by delivering practical, commercially focused legal advice and managing complex contractual matters. The role is expected to commence ASAP and will be based in Perth.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal support on strategic procurement and commercial initiatives.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage complex commercial contracts.

• Demonstrated ability to provide commercially focused legal advice and manage contractual risk.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience partnering closely with procurement, project, and business teams.
