Job summary

nib Group is seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer on a 12-month fixed term contract to design, build and evolve secure, scalable cloud environments across AWS, partnering with delivery teams to support continuous delivery and seamless experiences for customers and employees.

You will hands-on with Terraform, AWS CDK, PowerShell, Bash and Python, apply IaC and CI/CD practices, mentor engineers, drive cloud security and cost efficiency, and help set architectural direction for the organisation.

Job description

This is 12 month Fixed Term Contract as Senior Cloud Platform Engineer.

You'll play a critical role in designing, building and evolving secure, scalable and high-performing cloud environments that power our business. Working across AWS, you'll partner closely with delivery teams to ensure cloud infrastructure supports modern engineering practices, enables continuous delivery and delivers a seamless experience for customers and employees.

This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll leverage Infrastructure as Code, automation and cloud-native technologies to build resilient platforms that are secure, cost-effective and built for scale. You'll lead the implementation of cloud solutions, optimise performance, strengthen security, and help shape the future of our cloud capabilities.

Beyond the technical delivery, you'll mentor other engineers, contribute to technical design and architecture decisions, and champion cloud best practices across the organisation.

About you

You're a highly experienced cloud engineer with a passion for building secure, scalable and resilient platforms that enable teams to deliver great outcomes. With strong expertise across AWS, you bring deep hands‑on experience designing, automating and optimising cloud environments using Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines and modern engineering practices.

You’ll have a strong background working with complex, business‑critical systems and be comfortable across cloud infrastructure, networking, security, automation and observability. Your technical toolkit includes technologies such as Terraform, AWS CDK, PowerShell, Bash, Python and modern DevOps platforms, with a focus on creating reliable, efficient and highly available solutions.

We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical capability with a collaborative mindset. You'll enjoy partnering with engineers and stakeholders, solving complex problems, leading technical initiatives and mentoring others to elevate team capability. Experience with cloud security, cost optimisation, platform automation, GitOps and continuous improvement will set you up for success in this role.
