Job summary

AYAN InfoTech in Melbourne seeks an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to contribute to an exciting project in a mature IT environment. You will design, implement and automate Azure-based solutions, leveraging Terraform, Azure DevOps, Docker and Kubernetes to deliver scalable infrastructure.

The role requires 7+ years of experience, strong scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash), and a focus on security, governance, and performance. Contract is 6 months with potential extensions.

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years in medium to large IT environments.
• 4 years with Azure Public Cloud services (IaaS/PaaS).
• In-depth knowledge of Azure cloud platform for compute, storage, networking.
• Experience developing and adopting DevSecOps strategies.
• Hands-on deploying applications via Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
• Scripting and automation with Python, PowerShell, Bash.
• Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform OSS.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Azure Backup and Azure Monitor for IaaS workloads.
• Policy-as-code deployment model with Azure policies.

Responsibilities

• Authoring and deploying automation configurations for VM baseline enforcement.
• Design and assignment of Azure Policy definitions and remediation tasks.
• Stakeholder engagement to map integration points and SLA considerations.
• Design and build Terraform modules for Azure resources.
• Automate remediation changes via Terraform with Azure DevOps pipelines.
• Test and validate remediated services for connectivity and firewall compliance.
• Document final-state architecture and runbooks for operations.
• Develop standards, patterns, and IaC modules.
• Provide technical leadership and ensure cloud solutions align with standards.
