Job summary

Townsville Hospital and Health Service, part of Queensland Health, seeks an experienced Advanced Clinical Coder to join the Clinical Coding Unit. You will audit, analyse data, and liaise with clinicians to ensure accurate, timely coded data.

You will develop and coordinate education programmes to continuously improve coder skills and deliver high-quality data for health planning and research. Flexible remote options are available for Queensland applicants.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years clinical coding experience.
• Bachelor of Health Information Management (or equivalent) or Diploma of Clinical Coding from HIMA (or equivalent).
• Certificate in Advanced Clinical Coding from HIMA (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Conduct audits and data analysis to ensure accuracy and timeliness of coded data.
• Liaise with clinicians to support quality coding.
• Develop and coordinate education programmes to improve coders’ skills.
