Job summary

Doolan Co Pty Ltd in Sydney NSW is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead the civil delivery across projects, ensuring safe, technically sound and commercially successful outcomes. You will report to the Civil Construction Manager, manage and develop engineering staff, coordinate with Project Managers and site teams, and ensure drawings, approvals and procurement are ready ahead of construction.

Qualifications

• A recognised Civil Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
• Extensive civil contractor experience, typically 10+ years, with demonstrated senior responsibility across concurrent projects.
• Proven experience directly managing and developing engineering staff.
• Relevant experience in civil infrastructure, earthworks, drainage, water, sewer, pipelines or utilities.
• Strong technical judgement and commercial capability, including forecasting, variations, procurement and subcontractor management.
• The ability to work confidently with clients, consultants, authorities and site teams.
• Experience using Procore or comparable project systems.
• Sydney Water or other water authority experience and Chartered status or progress towards it will be well regarded.
• A current Australian driver licence and Construction Induction White Card are required for site duties.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering delivery from tender handover through construction, commissioning and close-out.
• Set priorities, allocate engineering resources and review technical work.
• Resolve complex technical issues and develop practical construction methods.
• Ensure drawings, approvals, procurement and engineering requirements are ready ahead of construction.
• Review costs, quantities, productivity and forecasts, addressing risks and protecting project margins.
• Maintain quality, safety and environmental standards.
• Provide civil engineering support to Doolan’s other divisions as required.
