Job summary

AECOM is seeking a civil/site infrastructure designer to join our team in Queensland. You’ll work on stormwater networks, bulk earthworks, and water/wastewater layouts, with WSUD inputs where applicable.

The role emphasizes quality, collaboration with other disciplines, and mentoring junior engineers. With 5–10 years’ post-graduate experience, you’ll apply Austroads knowledge and local authority requirements.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years’ post-graduate experience in civil/site infrastructure design.
• Working knowledge of Austroads and local council/authority requirements.
• Experience in stormwater and bulk earthworks design; water/wastewater coordination valued.
• WSUD design exposure is a plus.
• Defence project experience is desirable.
• Detail-oriented, structured, delivers compliant outputs.
• Mentor and support junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Deliver portions of civil/site infrastructure assignments with supervision within budget and programme.
• Gather, interpret and correlate engineering data per procedures.
• Complete primary design elements for civil works: stormwater networks, earthworks, water/wastewater layouts, WSUD inputs.
• Apply quality checks, verification, and standards adherence.
• Propose practical approaches using prior project learnings.
• Coordinate interfaces with disciplines and stakeholders.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
