Job summary

KBR in Adelaide is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead the planning, design and delivery of civil infrastructure projects in land development and building works. You will mentor engineers, manage client relationships and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery with high-quality outputs.

Apply your Chartered Engineer status and extensive knowledge of Austroads and Australian Standards to deliver complex projects, while shaping KBR's South Australia capabilities and client partnerships.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering infrastructure projects across land development and/or building civil works.
  • Strong knowledge of Austroads, DIT and Australian Standards.

Are you a civil engineer experienced in delivering infrastructure projects across land development and building civil works—and ready to step into a role where you can truly lead and influence outcomes? At KBR, we’re delivering projects that shape communities and support growth across South Australia, and we’re looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to bring their expertise, leadership and drive to our Adelaide team.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you’ll take ownership of the planning, design and deelivery of civil infrastructure projects across land development and building civil works. Working with a high-performing team, you’ll lead technical design, manage competing requirements, and contribute to projects delivered safely, on time and within budget. You’ll be responsible for producing and overseeing high-quality design outputs, including calculations, specifications, reports and documentation, while ensuring compliance with Austroads, DIT and Australian Standards. From developing stormwater management plans to navigating complex design challenges, you’ll bring sound engineering judgement and innovation to every stage of delivery. Beyond technical delivery, you’ll step into a key leadership role—mentoring junior engineers, guiding project teams and reviewing deliverables to ensure quality and consistency. You’ll also build and maintain strong client relationships and contribute to project success through clear, well-structured proposals and reporting.

About You

You’re a confident and capable civil engineer who thrives on delivering complex infrastructure projects and leading teams to success. You bring a strong technical foundation, commercial awareness and a collaborative mindset. Degree in Engineering (Civil or equivalent) with 7+ years’ experience. Chartered Engineer (CPEng) with Engineers Australia. Demonstrated experience delivering infrastructure projects across land development and/or building civil works. Strong knowledge of Austroads, DIT and Australian Standards. Background within an engineering consultancy environment. Proven ability to lead design outcomes and mentor team members. Strong understanding of commercial arrangements and project delivery. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. A strong commitment to health, safety and quality. Australian Permanent Residency or Citizenship (Preferred for Defence related projects).
