Job summary

WSP Australia’s Water Utilities team in Adelaide is seeking a Senior Civil Drafter to deliver high-quality civil drafting for major water infrastructure projects using 12D and AutoCAD. The role includes mentoring junior team members and contributing to digital engineering capabilities.

You'll collaborate with engineers across the project lifecycle, support from concept to construction documentation, and help implement drafting standards while liaising with clients and stakeholders.

WSP Australia's Water Business Group is growing, and we are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Drafter (12D) to join our Water Utilities team in Adelaide. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering essential water infrastructure projects while mentoring junior team members and contributing to the ongoing development of our digital engineering capability.

What You'll Do

• Prepare high-quality civil drafting and design documentation using 12D and AutoCAD for major water infrastructure and utilities projects.

• Deliver detailed design outputs including plans, profiles, cross-sections, earthworks models, and construction drawings.

• Work collaboratively with engineers, designers, and multidisciplinary teams across the project lifecycle.

• Support projects from concept and feasibility through to detailed design and construction documentation.

• Review drafter outputs and provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members.

• Coordinate drawing production to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to WSP's quality standards.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of drafting standards, workflows, and digital engineering processes.

• Liaise with clients, surveyors, and project stakeholders as required.

About You

• Demonstrated experience as a Civil Drafter or Senior Civil Drafter , ideally within water, utilities, transport, or linear infrastructure projects.

• Advanced proficiency in 12D and AutoCAD, with strong technical drafting and modelling capabilities.

• Experience producing detailed civil documentation packages for infrastructure projects.

• Strong understanding of civil design principles, including earthworks, drainage, roads, pipelines, and utility infrastructure.

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.

• Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to junior drafters is highly regarded.

• Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering, Engineering Design Drafting, or equivalent practical experience.

• Experience working with water authorities or utility clients will be highly regarded.
