Job summary

AECOM in Australia is seeking a senior highways and transport designer with 8–10 years’ experience to deliver CAD drawings and 3D models using 12d and AutoCAD. You’ll work to Queensland TMR RPDM and Austroads standards, and support BIM and digital engineering workflows.

This role offers hybrid work options and flexible hours, with opportunities to contribute to major infrastructure projects across Queensland. You’ll produce detailed CAD documentation and coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• 8–10 years' experience in highways/transport design in Queensland.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and 12d for civil design.
• Experience producing detailed CAD documentation and road design projects.

Responsibilities

• Deliver highways and transport designs using 12d and AutoCAD.
• Prepare CAD drawings and 3D models for road, cycleway, utilities, signage, and safety barrier design.

Job Description

How you’ll make a difference

• Deliver highways and transport infrastructure designs using 12d and AutoCAD in accordance with QLD TMR RPDM and Austroads standards
• Prepare accurate, high-quality CAD drawings and 3D models for road, cycleway, footpath, signage, utilities, and safety barrier design
• Support BIM and digital engineering workflows, including model federation and multidisciplinary coordination
• Provide technical and project support across multiple design packages while ensuring compliance with client and project requirements

• Associate Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent qualification)
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in highways and transport infrastructure design within Queensland, including TMR projects
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and 12d for civil design and modelling
• Demonstrated experience producing detailed CAD documentation and supporting geometric road design, utilities, signage, and safety barrier projects
