Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations.

• Ability to maintain consistent quality, taste and portion control.
• Stock management, costing and wastage minimisation.
• Ability to work under pressure during busy service.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience supervising kitchen staff is desirable.
• Follow recipes and kitchen procedures with sound culinary judgement.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, cook, and present menu items to high standard.
• Ensure food quality, taste, presentation, portion control.
• Prepare ingredients for daily kitchen operations.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and storage.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and kitchen cleanliness.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely.
• Coordinate food preparation and service for timely orders.
• Assist in training and supervising kitchen staff.
• Monitor costs, minimise wastage, and use ingredients efficiently.
• Assist with menu development based on customer preferences.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety and food regulations.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen.
