The Data Modernisation Program is transforming how data is governed, managed, accessed and used across CSIRO. In this role, you will establish a fit-for-purpose approach to change management, assessing people and organisational impacts and delivering coordinated engagement, communication, readiness and learning activities.

Working closely with program and project teams, senior leaders, business and service owners, and delivery partners, you will ensure the voice of impacted people informs program planning and solution design, while helping align change activities across the broader Digital Portfolio.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in embedding data-driven ways of working across Australia’s national science agency.

Your high-level duties will include:
  • Coordinate program governance activities, including agendas, papers, minutes, decisions and action tracking.
  • Support program planning and controls by tracking milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, issues and emerging priorities.
  • Prepare clear and timely program reporting and documentation to support decision-making and governance.
  • Maintain accurate program information, records and registers, including an active program lessons register, to support transparency and auditability.
  • Support financial reporting, benefits tracking, assurance activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Build effective working relationships with project teams, business stakeholders, delivery partners and subject matter experts to support coordinated program outcomes.
  • Coordinate discrete pieces of work and small initiatives in line with CSIRO practices.
  • Maintain program and transactional records across relevant CSIRO systems, including O2D and Altus.
Location: Any CSIRO site considered – Flexible/hybrid working options
Tenure: Specified term until June 2028, Full-time

  • Relevant Change Management training/accreditation (e.g. PROSCI) and a demonstrated understanding of the challenges and methodologies to ensure change management can be effectively delivered in an organisation.
  • High level of analytical and influencing skills to appeal to the interests of different teams and research units to deliver the change management messaging (including communications and learning & development).

Excellent written and oral communications skills to effectively communicate and influence staff at all levels within CSIRO and externally, with the ability to produce quality presentations, reporting, change and process documentation for end users.

  • Experience working with government agencies of comparable size to CSIRO, or experience working with research organisations.
