Job summary

dnata catering & retail in New South Wales, Australia is seeking a Senior Catering Attendant on a full-time basis. You will work across our production kitchen, preparing meals, packing, and presenting trays to meet delivery deadlines for our airline customers.

The role requires strong knife skills, numerical ability, good communication, and the stamina to stand for long shifts on a 7-day roster. Benefits include 5 weeks annual leave, free onsite parking, meals, uniforms, and 24/7 EAP support.

So, what does a typical day look like?

As a full-time, Senior Catering Attendant, you’re an integral member of our team, working across a range of areas to prepare all elements required to deliver a memorable dining experience for passengers onboard our airline customers flights. To do this, you perform a variety of roles across our production kitchen, including light food prep, packing and assembling meals. Responsibilities include:

• Help chefs prepare meals in bulk.
• Measure ingredients and prepare fruit, vegetables, and proteins.
• Handle food, plate meals, and set meal trays to presentation standards.
• Stock airline carts with catering items, snacks, and beverages.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and HACCP guidelines.
• Keep work areas clean and sanitised at all times.
• Work with team members to meet delivery deadlines.

About You

• Full ongoing working rights in Australia.

• Strong knife skills (safe, efficient and repetitive use of various knives for food prep)
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time, as well as move and lift items.
• Ability to work shift work across a 7-day roster.
• Neat and tidy presentation.
• Sound knowledge of food hygiene and HACCP (desired but not essential)
• Comfortable to wear PPE gear along with a standardised uniform
• Ability to pass pre-employment checks, incl. National Police Check and medical assessment.
• Availability to work 38 hours/week, as this role is a full-time permanent position.
• 5 weeks annual leave and competitive pay rates.
