Job summary

Centennial Coal Company is seeking a commercially driven Category Manager to join its Strategic Sourcing team and lead major spend portfolios across Services & Consumables and Overhauls & MRO.

You will collaborate directly with operational and corporate leaders to improve value, supplier performance and commercial outcomes across Centennial's underground mining operations, shaping category strategy and delivering meaningful cost improvements.

Qualifications

• Proven category management and strategic sourcing experience.
• End-to-end leadership of high-value sourcing initiatives.
• Experience in mining, heavy industry, infrastructure, or related sectors.
• Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
• Ability to balance value with safety, operational and supply-risk requirements.
• Accountable mindset and willingness to challenge constructively.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver category strategies across substantial spend portfolios.
• Lead tenders, negotiations, supplier selection and contract outcomes.
• Analyse spend, demand, supplier economics and cost drivers to identify value opportunities.
• Build relationships with operational stakeholders and strategic suppliers.
• Deliver sustainable cost reductions, cost avoidance and commercial risk improvements.
• Help shape a growing Strategic Sourcing function, including governance and ways of working.
