Job summary

Latrobe Regional Health in Gippsland invites applications for the Chief Cardiac Physiologist. This senior role provides clinical, operational and professional leadership to the Cardiac Diagnostics team, overseeing ECG, echocardiography, Holter, stress testing and pacemaker clinics in a regional health setting.

You will work with cardiologists and nursing leaders to drive service development, quality improvement and STEMI processes, ensure accreditation and safety standards, and mentor cardiac

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cardiac Physiology or related field with registration or eligibility.
• Extensive experience in cardiac diagnostics including echocardiography and stress testing.
• Proven leadership and management experience in a healthcare setting; staff wellbeing and development.
• Experience supporting STEMI services and emergency response coordination.

Responsibilities

• Oversee delivery of high‑quality cardiac diagnostic services, including ECG, Holter, stress testing, echocardiography, and pacemaker/ICD clinics.
• Provide clinical and operational leadership to cardiac physiologists and sonographers; support workforce planning and education.
• Drive service development, innovation and quality improvement across the organisation.
• Support acute cardiac services by implementing STEMI protocols and emergency response workflows.
• Ensure compliance with accreditation, NSQHS standards, infection control, and safety requirements.
