Job summary

Latrobe Regional Health in Gippsland is seeking a Chief Cardiac Physiologist to lead the Cardiac Diagnostics team within the Cardiology Department on a full-time ongoing basis. The role provides senior clinical, operational and professional leadership to deliver high-quality cardiac services in a regional health setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cardiac Physiology or equivalent with registration or eligibility.
• Extensive experience in cardiac diagnostics including echocardiography, stress testing, pacemaker/ICD clinics.
• Proven leadership in a healthcare setting and workforce development.
• Experience leading STEMI services and emergency response coordination.

Responsibilities

• Oversee delivery of high-quality cardiac diagnostic services, including ECG, Holter, stress testing, echocardiography, and pacemaker/ICD clinics.
• Provide clinical and operational leadership to cardiac physiologists and sonographers; support workforce planning and education.
• Drive service development, quality improvement and innovation across the organisation.
• Support acute cardiac services in collaboration with Cath Lab NUM and STEMI protocols.
• Ensure accreditation, infection control, safety, and NSQHS standards compliance.
• Collaborate with cardiologists and regional hospitals to optimise patient outcomes.
