Job summary

Local Council in Sydney's South West is seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to deliver multiple projects and assess EP&A Act applications within target time frames.

The role requires NSW BPB accreditation, knowledge of relevant acts, and a strong customer-service focus; initial 6-month contract with potential extension in a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Accredited minimum A2 or higher under the NSW BPB Accreditation Scheme.
• Strong knowledge of the Swimming Pools Act 1992, Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, Local Government Act 1993, Building Code of Australia and related legislation.
• Understanding of Work Health Safety, Equal Opportunity, Ethical Practice & Multicultural Diversity.
• Qualifications in Building Surveying (or related).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assessing and determining Construction, Occupation, Complying Development and Building Certificates.
• Assess and determining applications under Swimming Pools Act 1992 and Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1993.
• Review processes to maintain high level of customer service.
• Investigate and resolve community, stakeholder and consultant complaints on request.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

This Local Council based in the Sydney's South West is currently seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to assist their team with the delivery of multiple projects. The role offers an initial 6 month contract, with the possibility of extension.

ABOUT THE ROLE

To ensure that applications for Part 4A certificates and the PCA role under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 are assessed in accordance with the Building Code of Australia and the EP & A Act, within agreed time frames.

DUTIES

• Assessing and determining Construction, Occupation, Complying Development and Building Certificates
• Assess and determining applications in accordance to Swimming Pools Act 1992 and Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1993
• Reviewing processes and procedures to maintain a high level of customer service
• Investigating and resolving community, stakeholder and consultants complaints on request, regarding a range of building issues

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Accredited minimum A2 or higher under the NSW BPB Accreditation Scheme
• Strong knowledge of the Swimming Pools Act 1992, Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, Local Government Act 1993, Building Code of Australia and other related legislation
• Strong knowledge of Work Health Safety practices, Equal Opportunity Employment, Ethical Practice & Multi Cultural Diversity
