Job summary

NSW Department of Customer Service – Parramatta NSW is seeking a Senior Building Codes Officer within the Building Commission’s Practitioner Compliance team. This role focuses on NCC guidance, building/construction matters, and supporting the Building Codes manager in a fast-paced environment.

Parramatta with flexible/hybrid working arrangements; permanent ongoing role. Salary starts at 133,348 base plus superannuation, with a closing date in late 2026.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of the National Construction Code Series (BCA & Housing Provisions).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good time management and ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent oral and written communication with stakeholders.
• Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice on NCC, Building Code of Australia, and housing provisions to internal and external stakeholders.
• Support the Manager of the Building Codes team.
• Respond to briefing notes, GIPA requests, ministerial correspondence and media inquiries.
