Job summary

The Numbers Bureau, Bendigo, is seeking an experienced bookkeeper for a full-time, permanent role. You’ll manage a varied client portfolio, completing end-to-end bookkeeping including BAS/IAS, GST, payroll, and month-end reporting.

You’ll work independently within a supportive team, maintaining accurate ledgers, handling year-end prep, and building strong client relationships across industries.

Qualifications

• 3+ years bookkeeping experience, ideally in a practice environment
• Strong GST, BAS, payroll and superannuation knowledge
• Formal bookkeeping qualification (Cert IV+) and BAS Agent registration or willingness to obtain

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and receivable, and reconcile bank/credit cards
• Prepare and lodge BAS and IAS; manage GST
• Process payroll including STP reporting and superannuation
• Maintain ledgers and prepare month‑end client reports
• Assist with year‑end prep and liaise with accountants
• Respond to client queries promptly and professionally
• Build relationships with diverse clients and explain financial matters clearly
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve client outcomes
