Job summary

Queensland University of Technology – Kelvin Grove QLD is seeking a Senior Technical Officer (BMS) to lead day-to-day operation and development of the university’s building management systems. The role will manage BMS infrastructure and building services technologies including energy metering and automated controls, with involvement in commissioning for new builds and refurbishments.

Qualifications

• Evidence of an electrical trade qualification and current electrical license with extensive building services experience.
• Hands-on experience and high-level competency in interrogation, operation and fault finding of BMS platforms (INET, VISTA, StruxureWare) or equivalent.
• Knowledge of building engineering services design, including chilled water systems and metering.
• Proven project management experience with stakeholder engagement, procurement and financial management.
• Knowledge of Queensland WHS legislation and its workplace application.
• Experience guiding and mentoring worksite contractors and staff.
• Commitment to equity, diversity and Indigenous Australian engagement.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operation and development of the university’s BMS and building services technologies.
• Contribute to commissioning of new buildings and refurbishment projects; manage minor works and deferred maintenance.
• Collaborate with Operations, Capital Works and Major Projects and engage stakeholders across departments.
• Provide guidance to contractors and mentor colleagues; participate in on-call arrangements and overtime as required.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.
