Job summary

Austek Roads (ACT) is seeking a skilled Senior Bitumen Sprayer Operator to join our team in Hume, ACT. This full-time local role focuses on safe, efficient bitumen application to road surfaces and on maintaining spraying equipment.

You will conduct pre-operational checks, adjust spray rates and temperatures, work with the construction crew, and uphold health and safety policies. A minimum of five years' experience, MC truck licence, and Dangerous Goods / White Card prerequisites apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience operating bitumen sprayer trucks and applying spray seals on road projects.
• Experience operating relevant road surfacing equipment such as sprayers, rollers, loaders or other construction plant.
• Proven ability to maintain consistent, quality bitumen application per specifications.
• Strong commitment to health and safety in construction environments.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain bitumen spraying equipment to apply bitumen to road surfaces.
• Ensure accurate and consistent bitumen application as per project specifications.
• Perform pre-operational checks and maintenance on all assigned equipment.
• Monitor and adjust spray rates and temperatures to achieve desired results.
• Work with the construction crew to coordinate bitumen application with other activities.
• Identify and report any equipment issues or maintenance needs.
• Adhere to health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
