Job summary

DPIRD in Western Australia is seeking a Senior Project Officer to strengthen plant biosecurity preparedness. You will coordinate projects, engage with industry and government, and translate complex information into practical guidance for diverse audiences.

The role requires collaboration with scientists, policy teams and regional stakeholders to deliver outcomes that improve preparedness and response capabilities across agricultural sectors.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in complex project management from planning to evaluation.
• Ability to develop practical and innovative solutions to complex problems.
• Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills with strategic thinking.
• Proven ability to lead and empower others and work collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver preparedness projects supporting plant biosecurity objectives.
• Monitor progress, identify risks and support evaluation activities.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with growers, industry groups, and government partners.
• Prepare reports and guidance translating research into practical outcomes.
