Job summary

Viasat in Sydney is seeking an experienced Bid Manager to lead end-to-end bid/capture efforts for the Sovereign Space Programmes team (East). You will coordinate cross-functional SMEs across technical, commercial, finance and legal to produce competitive, compliant proposals and negotiate to contract.

The role involves developing bid content, implementing the company bid process, maintaining the pipeline, and supporting senior leaders.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience in bid management in SATCOM/Defence/space sectors.
• End-to-end bid process management incl. proposal writing and negotiations.
• Experience with Bid/Capture processes (Shipleys) and governance.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.
• Strong project management skills and deadline discipline.
• Good understanding of contracts and pricing.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building with senior leaders.
• Proficiency with MS Office, Visio, Project, and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional bid team across technical, commercial, finance, and legal.
• Develop bid content including executive summaries and pricing models.
• Lead small to medium bids with oversight and ensure timely proposals.
• Develop industry-standard bid methods, win themes, and competitor analysis.
• Implement company bid process and discipline across lifecycle.
• Prepare internal business cases and stakeholder presentations.
• Support pipeline knowledge of APAC space market.
• Lead or support negotiations with potential customers.
