Job summary

Design & Build Recruitment's client is an Australian-owned engineering and infrastructure contractor seeking an experienced Bid Manager to lead major EPC tenders across transmission, substations and renewable energy infrastructure in Australia.

You will coordinate clients, internal teams, suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring all technical, commercial and delivery requirements are captured for winning submissions and a smooth handover to delivery teams.

Qualifications

• Experience leading bids for substations, transmission or major electrical projects.
• Experience with EPC contractors in utilities, power or renewable energy.
• Ability to build detailed project cost models.
• Strong HV infrastructure knowledge.
• Ability to interpret technical specs, drawings and contracts.
• Excellent stakeholder management and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Tertiary qualification in Electrical/Civil Eng, Construction Management or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead bid process from opportunity qualification to submission and award.
• Develop and manage winning tender strategies.
• Review RFPs, drawings, and contract documentation.
• Define project scope and responsibilities across stakeholders.
• Coordinate vendor and subcontractor quotations for major equipment and services.
• Develop detailed cost estimates for HV substations and transmission infra.
• Build project delivery programmes and tender schedules.
• Identify commercial risks and value engineering opportunities.
• Maintain estimating databases and pricing models.
• Lead tender review meetings and handover to delivery teams.
