Job summary

Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) is seeking a Senior Analyst to help supervise some of Australia’s largest banks. You will analyse financial and non-financial risks, engage with banks and contribute to supervisory assessments that support APRA's objective of maintaining a safe and stable financial system.

The role offers exposure to banking, risk management and prudential supervision, with opportunities to work across APRA’s General Insurance and Banking Division and collaborate

Qualifications

• Experience in banking, financial services, risk management, consulting, economics, accounting, public policy or a related field.
• Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to assess complex information and exercise sound judgement.
• Strong written, verbal and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyse information to identify emerging risks, issues and trends.
• Contribute to major bank cohort supervision and benchmarking activities.
• Develop supervisory risk assessments and recommendations to address prudential issues.
• Engage with banks and participate in supervisory reviews.
• Prepare briefings and advice for internal decision-makers.
• Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders; and
• Contribute to policy and regulatory initiatives across APRA and the financial sector.
