Job summary

Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) is seeking a Senior Risk Analyst in Melbourne to strengthen the resilience of Australia’s financial services system. You will support supervision of regulated entities through data analysis, prudential reviews and engagements, and respond to material events with a focus on non-financial risk.

You will work with the Non-Financial Risk team to deliver specialist advice, uplift capability, and drive continuous improvement across operational risk,

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of non-financial risk management, incl. operational risk, resilience, and continuity management.
• Experience leading reviews including interviews/workshops with senior leaders.
• Strong analytical/problem-solving skills with excellent written/verbal communication.
• Experience coordinating cross-divisional processes and engaging stakeholders.
• Desirable: experience in consultancy, financial services, risk management or regulation.

Responsibilities

• Quality supervision outcomes by supporting data analysis and prudential engagement of regulated entities (operational risk and resilience).
• Respond to material risk events with internal teams and external agencies for coordinated response.
• Deliver outcomes in strategic or BAU supervision activities to improve non-financial risk across the Australian financial system.
• Develop insights from qualitative/quantitative information for non-specialists consumption.
• Engage with internal/external stakeholders, providing specialist advice and uplifting capability.
• Identify and champion continuous improvement opportunities for team efficiency and effectiveness.
