Airwallex | Senior Software Engineer in the Business Accounts team based in Sydney. You will help build the intelligent orchestration layer connecting Cash, Yield, Lending, and product surfaces into a unified financial experience for businesses.

Qualifications

5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Bachelor degree or above in computer science or software engineering related majors.
Experience solving distributed systems challenges—scalability, consistency, latency.
Mastery of backend technologies; Kotlin w/ Vert.x, Temporal & Kafka used.

Responsibilities

Contribute to architecture and long-term technical vision of backend systems.
Own end-to-end delivery of core investment workflows from design to production.
Build and maintain mission-critical financial infrastructure (reconciliation controls, registries, ledgers).
Write high-quality, testable code with focus on reliability and integration with external providers.
Promote engineering best practices with emphasis on observability and API design.
Collaborate with Product, Infrastructure and Design to optimize user experience.
