Job summary

The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) is seeking a DevOps Engineer to collaborate with development, hosting platforms, and Enterprise Integration Teams in Canberra. You will build and maintain Azure DevOps pipelines, artefacts, and ensure secure, automated deployments across environments.

You will automate processes with PowerShell, ARM/Bicep, and YAML, and support monitoring, testing, and security practices across CI/CD.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with Azure DevOps pipelines.
• Experience implementing IaC with CI/CD (Azure DevOps / GitHub).
• Experience with Git version control and branching strategies.
• Hands on experience deploying and maintaining Azure resources incl. App Service.
• Experience with major Cloud Platforms and FinOps right-sizing.
• PowerShell automation scripting experience.
• Troubleshooting complex apps across On Prem/Cloud.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or equivalent.
• Hands on experience with application development and build/deploy systems.

Responsibilities

• Designing, implementing, and managing CI/CD pipelines.
• Automating deployment processes for developed solutions.
• Managing development, testing, and production hosting environments.
• Applying scripting and automation to improve deployments.
• Implementing monitoring and alerting for performance and security.
• Integrating automated testing in CI/CD pipelines, incl. SAST/DAST.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align DevOps with goals.
• Maintaining documentation of deployment processes.
• Perform additional duties as directed.
