Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Context Engineer for a major banking program in Sydney/Melbourne. You will design, build and support enterprise cloud data solutions, delivering batch and near real‑time pipelines, data integration, modelling and governance across Azure and related services.

You will lead end-to-end data platform work, mentor engineers, and drive best practices for performance, data quality and cost optimization in an Azure-first environment.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in data engineering, design or warehousing.
• Advanced SQL and data transformation expertise.
• Hands-on with Snowflake, Python, Spark, ADF and Databricks.
• Experience across Azure, AWS or GCP environments.
• Knowledge of data modelling, governance and data quality.
• Experience with enterprise databases and cloud data platforms.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable data pipelines and data integration solutions.
• Develop ETL/ELT processes using modern cloud technologies.
• Maintain data models, mappings and documentation.
• Implement data quality, governance and security controls.
• Optimize SQL and cloud data platforms for performance.
• Troubleshoot production data services and support critical systems.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership for data platform architecture.
