Job summary

Rabobank Australia is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build and operate enterprise-scale data platforms on Microsoft Azure. The role combines hands-on data engineering with governance, security, and collaboration across analysts, architects and BI teams.

You will deliver scalable data pipelines using ADF, Databricks, Synapse and ADLS, with strong SQL, Python, PySpark or Scala skills, in a flexible hybrid setting based in Sydney.

Qualifications

• 5 years’ experience as a Data Engineer or similar cloud-based role.
• Strong SQL skills with data modelling and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with Python, PySpark or Scala.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure data services (ADF, Databricks, ADLS, Synapse).
• Familiarity with data governance, security, privacy & compliance.
• Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD, Git & Azure DevOps.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, enhance & support enterprise-scale data platforms on Microsoft Azure.
• Deliver high-quality data engineering solutions on time & within scope.
• Manage platform operations, lifecycle activities & ongoing support.
• Resolve production incidents & service requests promptly.
• Ensure data pipelines meet SLAs and validate data across sources & targets.
• Optimise ETL/ELT processes, performance & storage costs.
• Collaborate with analysts, architects, BI developers & stakeholders on data-driven outcomes.
