Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on Microsoft Azure engineering experience (5+ years).
• Senior Cloud/Platform Engineer background in Azure, with focus on platform engineering.
• Strong Terraform expertise and production-grade automation.
• Experience building Azure landing zones across IaaS, PaaS, security, governance, and CI/CD.
• Proficient in Azure Virtual Desktop and Intune in enterprise settings.
• Excellent collaboration and stakeholder communication across technical and non-technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve secure, reusable Azure platform patterns using Terraform.
• Design and maintain Azure landing zones, governance controls, and deployment standards.
• Review external patterns, resolve versioning, security, and integration issues.
• Establish a platform-engineering model delivering secure self-service for apps.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines, IaC practices, automation, and cloud ops processes.

About the job

This isn't an Azure BAU role. We're looking for a highly experienced Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to help transform how cloud services are delivered across a large, complex organisation. The goal is to establish a mature platform-engineering capability built around secure, governed and reusable Azure patterns.

Alongside this, you'll help drive Azure modernisation, migration and optimisation, strengthen tenancy governance, security and compliance, and improve platform performance and operational efficiency. About the role

• Build, deploy and continuously improve secure, reusable Azure platform patterns using Terraform.
• Design and maintain Azure landing zones, IaaS and PaaS services, governance controls and deployment standards.
• Review and improve externally developed patterns, resolving versioning, security, build and integration issues.
• Help establish a platform-engineering model that provides application teams with secure, governed self-service capabilities.
• Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code practices, automation and cloud operational processes.
• Work closely with application, cyber, networking and infrastructure teams to deliver scalable enterprise cloud solutions.

About you

• Extensive technology/infrastructure experience with at least five years of strong, hands-on Microsoft Azure engineering.
• Substantial production Terraform experience; deep Terraform capability is essential.
• Recent experience within senior Cloud Engineering, Azure Engineering or Platform Engineering positions.
• Strong experience building Azure landing zones and working across IaaS, PaaS, security, governance and CI/CD.
• Strong experience with Azure Virtual Desktop and Microsoft Intune within enterprise environments.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels (technical and non-technical).
