Job summary

ASX is seeking an experienced Automation Tester to design, develop and maintain scalable Java-based test frameworks and CI/CD pipelines. You will drive API and integration testing across multiple protocols and collaborate with developers, BAs and product owners to ensure testability and quality for ASX Trade and related market platforms.

Qualifications

• 7-9 years of automation testing experience, including API and integration testing across different protocols.
• Strong Java automation experience, with reusable libraries and maintainable frameworks.
• Proficiency in Python and ability to extend Python-based frameworks.
• Strong OO programming, clean coding practices, and design patterns.
• Experience with Cucumber, Gherkin and BDD approaches.
• Experience with CI tools and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Git, GitLab or equivalent source control and branching strategies.
• Linux/Unix command-line proficiency and troubleshooting.
• Test environment coordination, data setup and execution dependency management.
• Jira and Confluence for test management and project documentation.
• Strong communication and ability to work across teams.
• Ability to multi-task in medium to large project teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable Java-based automated test frameworks and components.
• Improve and modernize existing automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
• Build and maintain automated testing pipelines using Git/GitLab or equivalents.
• Promote shift-left testing with BAs, Developers and Product Owners.
• Plan, develop and execute automated and manual test cases for ASX Trade and related platforms.
• Validate market data, order flow and protocol behavior (FIX, ITCH, OUCH).
• Support system and production verification testing activities.
• Prepare test data, manage environments and troubleshoot execution issues.
• Document test results and release evidence for production sign-off.
• Log and report defects with clear evidence and reproduceability details.
• Communicate test status and risks to stakeholders.
• Contribute to QE&T Community practices and automation standards.
• Demonstrate strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration.
