Job summary

ASX Limited in Sydney seeks a Senior Test Engineer for a 12-month max-term contract. You will join the QE&T team to validate trading and market infrastructure, design test cases and lead end-to-end testing across multiple protocols.

The role requires expertise in test automation, CI/CD, Linux environments and strong stakeholder communication. Hybrid work available; successful candidates will undergo background checks and onboarding processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in software testing in high-availability systems.
• Experience testing distributed, event-driven or real-time processing systems.
• Experience with multiple protocols including FIX, APIs, messaging, file-based integrations.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and data reconciliation.

Responsibilities

• Validate highly available, mission-critical trading and market infrastructure systems.
• Design, review and execute test cases, test scenarios and test suites.
• Perform functional, system integration, end-to-end, regression and operational readiness testing.
• Prepare and manage test data, environment dependencies and execution readiness.
• Identify, investigate and track defects through to resolution.
• Provide test execution reporting, quality metrics and release evidence.
• Participate in risk assessments, test planning, estimations and release readiness reviews.
• Learn and use automation tools and build test automation suite.
• Improve productivity with AI tools in test engineering.
