Job summary

ASX is seeking a Senior Manager Assurance Technology AI Data Readiness to join its test engineering team in Sydney. You will lead automated test development, ensure robust CI/CD pipelines and collaborate with developers, analysts and stakeholders to deliver reliable release evidence for market platforms.

The role requires strong Java automation, Python, API testing, and experience with QA and test management tools.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years’ experience in test automation or quality engineering in medium to large tech environments.
• Hands-on Java automation experience developing tests and framework assets.
• Proficient in Python and supporting Python-based automation assets.
• Strong OO programming and clean coding practices for maintainable automation.
• Hands-on API/back-end testing with Postman, SoapUI or REST libraries.
• Experience with Cucumber and Gherkin for behavior-driven testing.
• CI/CD pipelines and GitLab/Git for automation.
• Good SQL for backend validation and data analysis.
• Linux/Unix CLI and troubleshooting skills.
• Jira/Confluence for test management and documentation.
• Ability to translate requirements into test conditions and automation candidates.
• Clear written and verbal communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and improve automated tests and assets.
• Support automated test execution in GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Create and run automated API, integration, regression and end-to-end tests.
• Apply robust automation design practices for maintainable assets.
• Contribute to shift-left testing and assess testability.
• Validate order flow, market data and protocol behaviour (FIX, ITCH, OUCH).
• Prepare test data and environment readiness across Linux/Unix.
• Investigate automation failures and data discrepancies with logs and queries.
• Document results and provide release evidence for production readiness.
• Log defects with evidence and analysis.
• Contribute to QE&T Community standards and patterns.
• Use AI tools responsibly to improve productivity.
• Support other team members across test phases.
