Job summary

BDO is seeking a Senior Manager to join the Melbourne Audit team. The role focuses on leading audit engagements end‑to‑end, mentoring staff, and collaborating with Partners to shape the strategic direction of the practice.

You will apply your CA qualifications and extensive audit experience across various sectors, including ASX listed companies, while leveraging data analytics to enhance client service and efficiency.

Qualifications

• CA qualified and experienced in delivering audit and assurance services to diverse clients.
• Proven ability to manage a wide portfolio of concurrent projects and teams.
• Strong understanding of Australian Auditing Standards and statutory reporting requirements.
• Experience in group reporting from both group and component teams.
• Demonstrated staff development, mentoring, and recruitment skills.
• Business development experience with ability to identify and convert opportunities to sell work.

Responsibilities

• Lead audit engagements from planning to reporting and governance.
• Enhance audit documentation with data analytics and AI where appropriate.
• Sign‑off on reports and complex accounting matters.
• Ensure engagement compliance with standards, legislation and policies.
• Monitor progress against budget and timelines, reporting to the Engagement Partner.
• Support independence, client acceptance and risk management policies.
• Elevate the firm's profile through seminars, webinars and other channels.
• Develop long‑term client relationships and identify new business opportunities.
• Coach and develop junior staff for technical competency and efficiency.
