Job summary

ElectraNet is seeking a Senior Assurance Advisor to lead audits and governance activities across the organisation, strengthening controls and supporting informed risk-based decisions.

You will provide senior specialist expertise in assurance, coordinate complex activities, and support integrated assurance planning with a focus on continual improvement and stakeholder collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
  • Strong experience in audit, assurance and governance within a complex or regulated environment.
  • Proven ability to lead complex audit, assurance and governance activities with autonomy.
  • Experience supporting assurance, compliance and audit programs.
  • Knowledge of assurance frameworks, control effectiveness and continual improvement practices.

Responsibilities

The Opportunity

If you enjoy leading meaningful assurance work, strengthening governance practices and helping leaders make well-informed, risk-based decisions, this is a great opportunity to join ElectraNet as our Senior Assurance Advisor.

You’ll provide senior specialist expertise across ElectraNet's assurance activities. You’ll lead significant assurance workstreams, coordinate complex audit and governance activities, support integrated assurance planning and provide trusted advice that helps uplift business practice, strengthen control effectiveness and support continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead audits, governance and assurance activities from planning through to reporting, driving continuous improvement across the business.
  • Partner with stakeholders to deliver risk-based assurance reviews that support business objectives and strengthen controls.
  • Enhance governance, assurance and compliance frameworks, methodologies and reporting practices.
  • Translate assurance findings and emerging trends into practical recommendations and actionable insights for leaders and stakeholders.
About You

You're an experienced assurance, audit, governance or risk professional who brings strong technical judgement, sound business acumen and the confidence to lead complex work with autonomy. You enjoy partnering with leaders and stakeholders, applying professional curiosity and constructive challenge, and translating findings into clear, practical actions that support well-governed decision-making.

What you’ll bring
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong experience in audit, assurance and governance within a complex or regulated environment.
  • Proven ability to lead complex audit, assurance and governance activities with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Experience supporting assurance, compliance and audit programs, including planning, delivery, reporting and action management.
  • Strong knowledge of assurance frameworks, audit methodologies, control effectiveness and continual improvement practices.
  • Sound understanding of risk management and control principles, with the ability to apply commercial and risk-based judgement.
  • Knowledge of relevant ISO standards, accreditation requirements, compliance obligations and external assurance frameworks.
  • Well-developed analytical, research, investigation and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to coach, influence and guide stakeholders to strengthen assurance, governance, control and compliance practices.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the flexibility to support business needs.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, and confidently presenting to stakeholders.
